Since the end of CityLoops in September 2023, Høje Taastrup has continued working on its transition towards a circular economy, building upon the activities in the project. The city has focused in particular on increasing the visibility of avoided consumption and emissions. The Co2 Calculator has played a key role in this work.

Høje Taastrup used the Co2 calculator as part of the decision-making process regarding an old school building to highlight the materials and Co2-savings of leaving the building standing and repurposing it for other functions rather than demolishing and building something new. Similarly, the tool was used to highlight the savings in an area where the pedestrian areas are being refurbished and the materials will largely be used again in a new configuration.

Høje-Taastrups development strategy centers around supporting the green transition and circular economy. This gives the city a strong strategic focus for and gives mandate to prioritise circular initiatives. The city has also continued to work as a facilitator and matchmaker between projects. As a result there has been an increase in projects requesting its help securing materials or passing materials on to the next building project.

Finally, Høje-Taastrup has engaged in knowledge dissemination with the hope of inspiring others to factor circularity into their building projects. CityLoops results from Høje-Taastrup have been presented at Circular Build forum in Nyborg, Denmark in January 2024; at the Procura+ conference in March 2024 in Lisbon, and at the Danish Centre for Waste and Resources in April 2024. The city has also focused on internal dissemination to colleagues in departments that work with the municipal building mass.
